Andrea Mitchell

Andrea Mitchell is a Washington D.C.-based American TV journalist, anchor, and anchor and. Mitchell graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a diploma in English literature. Mitchell was recruited as a reporter for KYW Radio and TV Philadelphia in 1967. 1996, she joined WDVM-TV Washington DC, a CBS-affiliated station (then WTOP). The following year, she was a general reporter for NBC News in Washington. 1981 she started covering the White House, and in 1988 she was appointed the Chief Correspondent to Congress. Mitchell was appointed the Chief White House correspondent in 1992. As well as the the chief correspondent for foreign affairs at NBC News. Mitchell participated on the TV program Meet the Press and also hosted the program. She served on an advisory panel during the debates of 1988 between George Bush (then president) and Michael Dukakis. Mitchell is married to Alan Greenspan former chairman of the Federal Reserve Board. Mitchell has received numerous awards for journalism excellence, including the Goldsmith Career Award from John F. Kennedy School of Government in 2005. Mitchell was also awarded by the Leonard Zeidenberg Award by Radio-Television News Directors Association in 2004. Mitchell began reporting on in the White House in 1981-1988, in both the Reagan presidency. The reporting she did included plenty of crucial stories such as the Iran-Contra controversy, tax reform and the budget and also the issue of arms control. Mitchell traveled extensively along with President Reagan during summits along with Mikhail Gorbachev.
